SUMMER GETAWAYS

This summer the Rakela Team enjoyed the sun, surf and sea and all that summer has to offer. We hope you enjoy these snippets from our summer excursions!

Elizabeth: This year I traveled to France with my husband and two teenage sons. They wanted to stay in Cannes in the south, which was a great midpoint between many towns that we wanted to visit. We rented a car and drove to Monaco, St. Tropez, and we also took a boat to Ile St. Marguerite. We ended our trip in Paris and I had so much fun bringing my family to see where I lived when I studied abroad 25 years ago. We were also able to visit the University pictured above. We got to see a variety of landscapes and attractions. It was so nice to spend time with the boys before they venture onto the next part of their lives.

Amber: This was the fastest summer yet. One of our best trips and memories was visiting friends in Saratoga. We went to the racetrack and had “track at the turn” seats. We tailgated, placed bets and of course dressed in our finest. I came out ahead $67 too!

Steve: Every year my father and I travel to a different baseball stadium. This summer we went to St. Louis and it was a blast! We took a tour o the stadium, checked out the local cuisine, and explored the city – it was a highlight of my summer.

Erin & Mark: It was an eventful summertime, full of beaches, mountains, and a trip to Barcelona. One of our favorite beaches is only an hour and 10 minutes from Hoboken, Asbury Park. We have a favorite spot right near the surf beach, some favorite restaurants, and always loads of fun.

Kate: Every summer, my family spends time in the Fingers Lakes region of upstate New York, close to where I grew up and went to college. We swim, fish, boat, kayak and enjoy the quiet nights and watch for shooting stars. As the saying goes, life is better at the lake!
